The two most common phrases heard around the law school, are "I'm so tired" and "I'm so busy." These are mostly uttered by 2L's who are still eager to prove how dedicated they are (the 3L's have given up by this point). The "I'm so tired" is my personal favorite. These days I just love hearing about how little sleep law students are getting. Oh please tell me more about how your Evidence outline kept waking you up every 2 hours last night screaming at you to feed it!
But my second favorite is the "I'm so busy." Law students love to brag about how much they are doing and how little time they have to do it in. Well, at the risk of proving my own point, I think I may just have to take the cake on that one. I'm sorry, I don't care how much you are doing, unless you have a child in addition, you can't compete. Yesterday I started eating in the shower. I came home at 10 p.m. after my night class and wanted a snack. I figured, I already eat in the car on the way to school (coffee and a granola bar - it's all I have time for) why not just carry this over into other areas of my life. So I grabbed a nectarine and hopped in. That's right folks, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel of my sanity these days.
So, to all those 2L's (who don't know this blog exists), shut up with the "I'm so busy's." When you start eating in the shower, then we'll talk.
And for those cynics out there who ask, "If you're so busy, AA, then when do you have time to blog?" The answer is, I usually blog while I'm pumping for 20 minutes in the morning and evening. Always multi-tasking ...
ReplyDeleteOh wow, eating in the shower is one I have never thought of. Eating in the bath, yes, but not the shower. Yeah, you totally win the busy/tired contest.
