We just got our cable service, after 3 weeks without television in our apartment. We didn't have TV at all during my finals, which turned out to be a good thing because I wasn't distracted from studying. Then Thursday afternoon I took my last final and woke up Friday morning with nothing to do. I was bored by 9:30 a.m. Of course, BA would tell you that I had plenty to do, and suggest that I help with unpacking all of our boxes. But then, Friday at 10 a.m. a knock at the door, and my world opened up again. AT&T was there to install U-Verse, our new cable service!
We have the National Geographic Channel now. At first I was really excited about this - such a cool channel, right? But then I realized that Nat. Geo. can freak the crap out of me in 2 minutes flat. Turn it on and there's always some scientist demonstrating how an asteroid is going to destroy the earth and on the off chance that asteroid misses earth, we will inevitably be sucked into a black hole or the sun will explode and burn the earth to a crisp. Fantastic! Nat. Geo. is so dooms-day, I have to switch over to CNN for coverage on the war in Afghanistan just to calm down!
