For example, I pulled up to a stoplight the other day. As soon as my car came to a stop, I immediately thought to myself, "I'll probably be here for a couple of minutes. I wonder if I can squeeze in a nap? I'm sure if I roll into the middle of the intersection, somebody will let me know."
The lines are blurred these days. I'll wake up and think Leah is still on top of me, or that AA just asked me to wake up and hold her for a few minutes while she uses the restroom. Over the next 15 seconds of wake/sleep/dreaming/confusion, the situation will rapidly deteriorate until the Peanut has vanished into thin air, fallen off the bed, or disappeared into the sheets. Before I can live my life again, I'll have to rush out into the living room to make sure that AA still has Leah and it was all a dream. So far, it's always been a dream. Whew!
The truth is, Peanut, you're worth every sleepless minute.
Soooooo totally worth it!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love that last picture of you guys asleep. If our kids ever ended up in bed with us, Lance would always shoot up out of the bed thinking he had rolled over on them. I would giggle and fall back asleep. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteWell, she is certainly getting bigger and I love the way she can follow you with those beautiful eyes. Ah, sleep, gorgeous sleep. I would suggest an old celtic tune called "Sleep, Deary, Sleep", which might work in the ol' country. Only problem is I have only heard it played on the highland pipes, which might not be conducive to encouraging the little one to doze off. Or you could use the method that worked with AA when she was a wee child. The doc prescribed phenegren. I asked how much do we give to AA, and he said, none. The parents take the phenegren so they will sleep. Worked like a charm.
ReplyDeleteI'm particularly liking the "I'm reviewing the situation," look little Leah is perfecting in these photos. You see it in the one on the countertop, and there was an earlier shot of peanut and Grandma where the peanut looked slightly suspicious that something fishy was going on. She's probably starting to wonder if everyone around her is really that strange, or if the lack of sleep is just making them act a little funny.
ReplyDeleteLeah sure does know her Daddy...and loves him
ReplyDelete(Mommy too)!cr
