Swim Trunks or Hula Skirt - Part II

I had my 16 week doctors appointment today.  This appointment was supposed to tell us the sex of the baby, if the baby wasn't being "modest."  Well, for the first time in its life, the little peanut was being "modest" with one leg tucked under, but my doctor was able to make an educated prediction based on what she could see.  This isn't 100% for sure, but it's pretty good.

Before I reveal the doctor prediction, here's a reminder of my family prediction poll.

Haley - Girl
Mom - Boy
Dad - Boy
Wanda - Boy
Priscilla - Boy
Frank - Boy
Me - Boy
BA - Boy

So it turns out that Haley really is the family genius after all!

We are PROBABLY having a HULA SKIRT!!!

I have a confession to make.  We've known it was probably a hula skirt for about 3 weeks.  When I went for my first trimester screening I had a high definition ultrasound done and both the ultrasound technician and the doctor independently predicted a girl based on a very clear shot of "the area" during two screenings.  Because it was so early, 13.5 weeks, I wanted to wait for a 3rd confirmation from my doctor today before we announced the sex.  Because I had 2 independent predictions in high-def, plus my doctor's educated guess today, I felt comfortable announcing that IT'S A GIRL, even though we couldn't get a clear shot of "the area" today.

Needless to say, we won't be buying any pink furniture yet, but BA has started saving $$ for her wedding :)

  4. I am very happy for a girl-after all, I was somewhat involved in raising two myself. And there are other advantages-when they reach teenage years, and get cheeky with you, you don't have to have a physical fight with them for discilpine, because that is unmanly. Just send them to their room and remove their cell phones. They can't stand that. I love it!! Dad

  8. Yea, a girl!! And I'm not just excited because this confirms that I'm the family genius. This means I will actually have an idea of what to get for peanut.
And excellent point, Priscilla, girls do rule :)

  9. I have been thinking of possible names for the little one. My favorite would be Waynette, or Paulette, but that's too obvious. Maybe a Biblical name? Bathsheba? No, she was bad news for a King. Ester? The only Ester I ever heard of was always seen in a swimming suit with Tarzan. A Southern name maybe. Billie Jo, or Peggy Sue? We could write a song about those names. A Broadway musical name? Eppanine? Naw, there was a dog by that name. You could go for a close Italian family name, Caritanelli. I've got it!! A name that rhymes----Erin. Think of it, Erin Aaron. She would never forgive you for that. I 'll keep working on the best name, but if I know AA and BA, they will choose a lovely name for what I know will be a lovely daughter. And no, it is not Shikira. Love you, Dad

Thank you for your comments. I love reading them. For those of you who know us personally, please use "AA" and "BA" in place of our names. Thank you!
